4 Days Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara Safari
Depart Nairobi early in the morning and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingo population and as a sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos. On arrival, enjoy lunch at your chosen lodge or camp. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore the park’s diverse wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, and buffaloes. Take in the spectacular views of the lake and its surrounding acacia forests. Lake Nakuru is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and other bird species. Overnight at a luxury lodge with a view of the lake or at a standard lodge within the park, such as Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara – Big Five and Vast Plains
After breakfast, depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world. Arrive in time for lunch at your accommodation within the Mara. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the reserve, which is renowned for its incredible wildlife. Here, you have the opportunity to see the Big Five (lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos), as well as cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and numerous antelope species. Enjoy the endless savannah plains that make the Mara so iconic. Dinner and overnight stay at a luxury camp (such as Mara Intrepids or Mara Serena Safari Lodge) or a standard lodge (like Mara Simba Lodge or Keekorok Lodge).
Day 3: Masai Mara – Full Day Safari Adventure
Enjoy a full day of exploration in the Masai Mara. Start with an early morning game drive when the wildlife is most active. The Mara is especially famous for its predator-prey interactions, and you may witness thrilling scenes of hunting and feeding. Visit the Mara River to spot crocodiles and hippos, and if you’re visiting during the migration season (typically July to October), you could be fortunate enough to see the dramatic river crossings. You can also choose to visit a Maasai village to learn about the rich Maasai culture and their way of life. Return to your lodge or camp for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to continue the adventure. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation in the Masai Mara.
Day 4: Masai Mara to Nairobi – Departure
After an early breakfast, enjoy one last morning game drive in the Masai Mara to capture any wildlife sightings you might have missed. Afterward, return to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon to conclude your 4-day safari.
